Who is Democrat Ilhan Omar loyal to?

Democrat Ilhan Omar is in the news for her hatred of Jews and for her claim that Americans who support Israel are more loyal to Israel than to America.

Contrary to the lies that the #FakeNews media and the Democrats are spreading Omar is not in trouble because she's criticizing aspects of Israeli policy. Omar is in trouble because she says that Jews "hypnotize" the world, that American politicians only support Israel because rich Jews bribe them, and that average Americans who support Israel are being disloyal to America.

Given Omar's long standing support for radical Islam and Palestine it's fair to ask if she's not in fact projecting her own rejection of America and support for radical Islam onto Americans who support the only really functional democracy in the Middle East?

Omar supports the BDS movement which is calling for the destruction of the state of Israel, a Palestine which stretches from the river to the sea.  Given that radical Muslims often call for the murder of Jews and that the Palestinians have waged a war of terror against Jewish civilians for a long time it's clear that if the state of Israel would fall there would be mass executions of Jews; something that Omar doesn't seem bothered by.

From the US perspective a destabilized terrorist supporting state replacing Israel would be a significant disaster which would advance Russian and radical Islamic interests in the Middle East.

Hence even if one disagrees with the specifics of Israeli policy, such as their banning hotels from having Christmas trees at Christmas, it doesn't make sense from an American selfish interest perspective to want Israel to disappear.

That's why even though politicians of both parties have been criticized Israel for this and that they've always supported the right of Israel to exist; something that Omar denies.  Note too that historically critiques of Israel policy don't result in people being labeled antisemites.

That Omar is cool with Israel being destroyed seems to indicate that she's more interested in advancing radical Islam than she is in doing what's best for America.

Omar has condemned President Obama for using drone strikes against radical Islamic terrorists.  Given that those people have openly declared jihad--which is not a peaceful thing--against America Omar is once again putting the interests of radical jihadis over the interests of the US.

The argument that drone strikes are bad because some civilians are killed is entirely incorrect because it fails to ask the question of how many civilians would die if there were no drone strikes.

It's true that no Muslim civilians would die if the US just left radical Islamic terrorists alone but large numbers of Christian and Jewish civilians would die due to the unchecked terrorist activity that would result.  The fact that that doesn't bother Omar is another indication that her loyalty may not be with America.

However if she believes that we should attack terrorists but not by using drones then she's ignorant of the fact that the number of civilians that die in drone strikes is far less than would die in pretty much any other scenario.

If the US were to send in a conventional military force to target these terrorists history has shown us that the civilian body count due to fighting in an urban area would be very high.  Even if we send in the SEALs or the Green Berets there will be civilian casualties and we're putting innocent American lives at risk.

Finally the primary reason that there are civilian casualties from drone strikes is that the cowardly Islamic radicals surround themselves with civilians; using them as shields.  Omar seems to be endorsing the right of radical Muslims to protect themselves using women and children as shields.

All in all the fact that Omar objects to attacks on mass murdering Islamic terrorists who have declared that America is target #1 indicates that her true loyalties don't lie with the country which rescued her from the poverty and violence that her native Somalia has descended into.

We can see that too from how she talks about America; she condemns it:

“I think back to the orientations I went through a little over 20 years ago in the process of coming to this country, and in those orientations they did not have people who were homeless. There was an America that extended liberty and justice to everyone. There was an America where prosperity was guaranteed regardless of where you were born and what you looked like and who you prayed to,” she said, adding, “I wasn’t comfortable with that hypocrisy.”

She also blames America for the terrorist attacks conducted by radical Islamic terrorist group al Shabaab. In an interview about the al Shabaab attack on a Nairobi shopping mall where victims had their eyes gouged out and were left hanging from hooks in the ceiling Omar said:

Usually most people want to not look internal and see what their actions that makes another react. For us, it’s always ‘I must have not done anything. Why is it happening to me?’ Nobody wants to take accountability of how these are byproducts of the actions of our involvement in other people’s affairs.

It's clear that Omar thinks that it's America's fault that radical Islamic terrorist groups do evil things.  That's hardly the sort of thing you'd expect to hear from someone whose loyalty is to America.

Even if you believe that America's actions towards radical Islam should be different blaming the US for the terrorist's actions is like blaming a woman who has been raped for her rape. In both cases the criminals can choose to not be violent and the actions of the victim didn't force the criminal to use violence.

The bottom line is that Americans support Israel for a variety of reasonable reasons--including the fact that Israel is far more tolerant of religious minorities than radical Islamic states-- and that from a purely selfish perspective America is better off with Israel only than we would be with a terrorist supporting radicalized Jew murdering Palestinian state only.

Further American's who support Israel also support a Palestinian state so long as that state declares that Israel has a right to exist and doesn't support terrorist attacks against Israeli civilians.

But Omar seems to put the interests of radical Islam ahead of America's interests while simultaneously blaming the US for Islamic terror and condemning America, the country that rescued her from an Islamic hell in Somalia, as being a racist country.

If anyone is to be suspected of being disloyal to America or of having dual loyalties it would seem to be Ilhan Omar.
