Brilliant CA Democrats take 25 year to make bullet train

A key component of the Democrats new "Green Energy Deal" is eliminating airplanes by around 2030.

Yet in what Democrats think of as Heaven on Earth, California, where Democrats have made a high speed rail link between Los Angeles and San Francisco a priority it will take, optimistically 25 years to get the line in place.

Hence even if the "Green New Deal" could get every city pair currently served by airlines to start working in 2020 it'd be unlikely that there would be a single one in place by the 2030 "Green New Deal" deadline.  So either Ocasio-Cortez wants to ban planes for we the people, I'm sure that our rulers would be able to fly, even though there is no way for us to travel or her claim that they won't quite have gotten rid of planes by 2030 is completely false.

This is of course ignoring the cost.  The LA to SF link could cost close to $100 billion.  Adding up the distances between every place in the US which is currently connected by airplanes, even just the big commercial ones, would result in a need for thousands of more miles than the CA project and hence a cost on the order of $100 trillion. Given that the current total federal government budget is around $4 trillion that would mean that we'd have to spend the entire federal budget just on high speed rail for 25 years.

Maybe that's why the Democrats are saying that the "Green New Deal" will hurt the poor the most; after all there won't be any money for welfare.
