An old school leftist; Alan Dershowitz says McCabe was plotting a coup

I'm so old that I remember when the left actually tried to defend their positions with logic and reason instead of doing their damnedest to deplatform anyone who disagreed with them.

Alan Dershowitz is a leftist of that stripe and as the former go to guy for the left on the law--he lost that title when following the law came in conflict with the left's agenda-- when he talks about the law it carries great weight.

He's now stated that the actions that McCabe described, trying to misuse the 25th amendment to get rid of Trump, is a coup.  Here's what he said:

“Any Justice Department official who even mentioned the 25th Amendment in the context of President Trump has committed a grievous offense against the Constitution,” 

“The framers of the 25th Amendment had in mind something very specific and trying to use the 25th Amendment to circumvent the impeachment provisions or to circumvent an election is a despicable act of unconstitutional power grabbing,” 

“If [McCabe’s comments are] true, it is clearly an attempt at a coup d’état,” 

The 25th Amendment was for when a President was unable to govern due to physical incapacitation.  For example after Woodrow Wilson's stroke his wife effectively ran the country since there was no way to remove him from office.  It was not to remove a President because the leadership of the FBI/DOJ didn't like his policies.

It's time we stopped wasting our time on the #FakeNews that Trump colluded with Russia and start going after the real threat to American democracy; the actions of the unfireable bureaucrats who run our lives.
