Guns save lives; the truth the Democrats want to hide

In America about 28% of residential burglaries occur when someone is home.  The figure for England  is 58%.

The difference is that in America criminals know there is a reasonable chance that homeowners will be armed.

About 1/4 of those cases where one or more homeowner is home result in the residents being physically harmed, which includes being raped.

There are about 3,000,000 burglaries in America each year.

So if the Democrats manage to remove our 2nd Amendment rights we should expect that the number of people who are injured by burglars in any given year should roughly double from around 200,000 to 400,000 a year.

When Democrats try and rationalize their attempts to disarm the people they often cite the victims of "gun violence". They usually use a number like 33,000 but that's a lie because it includes suicides.  In fact nearly 2/3ds of that number are suicides.  We know that guns don't cause suicides since Japan with complete gun control has twice the suicide rate of the US.

There are in fact about 13,000 people killed by guns each year. A very large fraction of those are the result of gang violence and hence wouldn't be impacted by any gun control laws since gangs don't buy guns legally.

But even if we take the 13,000 number as being all due to the people who would be impacted by gun control laws it's a tiny fraction of the 200,000 new victims that would arise if people were denied the ability to defend themselves.

Basically Democrat's who want to disarm the people lie about both the negative and positive impacts of keeping Americans defenseless.
