New York Democrat Governor Cuomo says that people accused of promoting child porn shouldn't have to post bail

In January a new set of bail rules will go into effect.  They supposedly ensure that criminals accused of "non-violent" crimes don't have to wait in jail as they're being prosecuted; that is the can be released to prey on more people while awaiting trial.

But among the list of "non-violent" crimes are some that most sane people would say should require the alleged criminals to have to apply for bail.  For example:
  • Second-degree manslaughter
  • Aggravated vehicular assault
  • Third-degree assault
  • Promoting an obscene sexual performance by a child
  • Possessing an obscene sexual performance by a child
  • Promoting a sexual performance by a child
  • Failure to register as a sex offender
  • Making terroristic threats
  • Criminally negligent homicide
  • Aggravated vehicular homicide
Five of these mean that child pornographers will be able to go about their business without having to post bail.

While some might say that failing to register as a sex offender isn't a violent crime the next woman that person rapes might not agree.

What's really amazing is that Cuomo is cool with letting someone who made terrorist threats walk free while awaiting a trial.  Apparently Cuomo's never heard of 9/11.

And in what universe is a homicide non-violent?

Clearly Cuomo and the Democrats are on the side of terrorists, child pornographers, and killers and not on the side of the vast majority of honest residents of New York State.
