Democrat Mike Quigley says that rumors are better than facts in a criminal case

Facing a huge problem; none of their "witnesses" are in fact witnesses but rather people repeating rumors they have heard Rep. Mike Quigley is on record that hearsay, ie rumors, are better than facts.

He said:

"I think the American public needs to be reminded that countless people have been convicted on hearsay because the courts have routinely allowed and created needed exceptions to hearsay," Quigley, a Democrat from Illinois, said to close his questioning of Kent and Taylor. "Hearsay can be much better evidence than direct, as we have learned in painful instances and it's certainly valid in this instance."

First if countless people have been convicted on the basis of rumors not facts it's clear that there's something really wrong with the American justice system which needs to be fixed.

Can you imagine if some Black man was convicted of drug dealing based on a "witness" who said he'd heard that the Black man was dealing drugs?  That would be condemned, rightly so, as racist and horrible.

Yet Quigley says that would be ok.

Of course a Republican pointed out that no court in the land would allow hearsay evidence in a criminal trial.

Even worse while one could make a case that rumors might be useful in finding the truth that's not what Quigley said. He said that rumors can be better than facts.

Imagine if a Black man was convicted of drug dealing based on hearsay even though there was proof that he couldn't have committed the crime?  Now that would be racist and horrible yet apparently Quigley would be ok with it.

Either Quigley knew he was lying or he thinks it's ok that people are sent to prison based on rumors neither of which is a good sign that the Democrat coup is based on honesty or good intentions.
