Democrats declare that presidential candidates can't be investigated for corruption

So far the Democrats haven't produced a single witness with first hand evidence about anything Trump did that was wrong much less criminal.

But for a moment let's assume that their charges are correct.  What is the situation then?

Well Trump demanded that the Ukraine investigate possible corruption by the Biden family before he'd give Ukraine military aid.

Is that bad?  If so why?

The evidence is pretty clear:

  • Joe Biden became Obama's point man for Ukraine
  • Hunter Biden gets paid $3.1 million dollars by a corrupt Ukraine company; Burisma
  • Hunter Biden admits he has no expertise in the energy sector which is Burisma's business
  • Hunter says on TV that he only got the job because he's Joe Biden's son
  • "Corrupt" Ukraine head investigator starts investigating Burisma
  • Joe Biden tells Ukraine that they won't get US aid unless they fire the "corrupt" prosecutor
  • Ukraine fires the "corrupt" prosecutor
  • Ukraine ends the investigation into Burisma

Now Democrats do say that it's just a coincidence that the one and only prosecutor that Joe Biden ever personally saw to firing just happened to be investigating the company that gave Hunter Biden $3.1 million dollars.

If we take the same facts and replace "Joe Biden" with "Donald Trump" and "Hunter Biden" with "Trump Jr" the Democrats would be demanding that the Trumps be thrown in jail. But because the crooks are Democrats the Democrats are saying that corruption is ok.

Of course what the Democrats are doing is saying that it's an evil crime to ask a foreign government to investigate a presidential candidate.

That's a bit odd for two reasons. First there is no law saying that presidential candidates are above the law.  If there is then a whole lot of Democrats belong in jail since they're assiduously investigating Trump.

Second we all know that if the situation were reversed the Democrats would be all for asking Ukraine to investigate Trump, a presidential candidate. We know that because in 2018 3 Democrat Senators wrote a letter to Ukraine demanding, or else, that Ukraine reopen investigations into people who were associated with Trump; the intent was clear, Ukraine supply us with dirt on Trump or else.

If we think about this whole big Democrat lie for a second who, irrespective of their political affiliation, would think that it was wrong for a President to ask a foreign country to investigate an obvious case of corruption by one of his political opponents? How are we the people served by declaring that anyone who is running for President can be as corrupt as they want overseas because it's wrong to investigate overseas corruption?

But if we accept this new Democrat dogma--it's a crime to investigate a Presidential candidate for corruption--then on what rationale can Democrats demand Trump's financial documents?  After all while they have no evidence of Trump doing anything wrong they're keen on removing his 4th Amendment rights and conducting a fishing expedition looking for corruption.

How is that ok if investigating Biden is a no-no because he's running for President; after all Trump is running for President too.

Of course what's really happening is that Democrats are scared to death that the numerous heinous crimes they committed, including the obvious massive corruption of the Biden family, will come to light so they're accusing Trump of what they've done to distract us from the truth.
