"Whistleblower's" GoFundMe page may violate the law

Not surprisingly members of the intelligence community can't gifts from people.  After all how can one distinguish a gift from a bribe?

To date 6000 people have given $227,000 to the "whistleblower". The way GoFundMe works contributions could be coming from foreign countries and individuals can be contributing under different names.

The issues with this include:

• The "whistleblower" has a financial incentive to lie
• By setting up the page the "whistleblower" demonstrated a lack of concern about government ethics rules

If the situation was reversed and the "whistleblower" was calling out Obama the Democrats and the #FakeNews media would be condemning him.
