Now why would they do that? According to Vindman he's a patriotic American so how did the Ukrainians get the idea that he'd be good as their defense minister?
Can you imagine France offering a German army officer the job of secretary of defense?
Unless the Ukraine is just desperate for defense ministers they must have had some reason to think that Vindman was on their side or favored them in some way.
Keep in mind Vindman has demonstrated a serious lack of knowledge about Ukraine including having no knowledge of the Bursima corruption and he thought that Obama had supplied military aid to Ukraine when in fact he'd refused to do so.
So why would Ukraine offer him a high level position? Perhaps to flatter him? Perhaps because he was in fact representing Ukraine more than US interests?
Who knows.
But it's really odd isn't it?
