He calls the folks that falsely believe that cowering in our homes will keep us from dying of COVID19 "anti-herders".
Historically diseases were defeated by herd immunity; enough people get the disease and don't die that the disease can no longer spread.
Think of it this way; if someone has COVID19 and exposes 4 other people if a high percentage of people are immune because they've already had it the odds of that person spreading the disease are small.
Kulldrof points out that due to its highly infectious nature America, and all countries, will achieve herd immunity eventually. Delaying that only costs more lives due to things like suicide, drug overdoses etc.
He then makes the obvious point that the lethality of the China virus is highly dependent on age. People over 70 are 3000 times more likely to die from it than are children.
The mortality rate for COVID19 for young people is so low that reductions in the number of deaths from that group are more likely to be due to fewer traffic accident related deaths than to the benefits of the lockdown.
Here's Kulldorf's recommendations:
Considering these numbers[lethality vs age], people above 60 must be better protected, while restrictions should be loosened on those below 50. Older people who are vulnerable should stay at home. Food should be delivered and they should receive no visitors. Nursing homes should be isolated together with some of the staff until other staff who have acquired immunity can take over. Younger people should go back to work and school without older coworkers and teachers at their sides.
These make sense but Democrats oppose them because Democrats want you to suffer so much that you're willing to vote for Joe Biden.
Democrats view your suffering as a price they're willing to pay in order to get more power over we the people. The Democrats who support perpetual lockdown--or at least until Biden is elected-- are generally people who can work from home--Silicon Valley leftists--, politicians--who are still being paid--, government workers--who are all "essential" and getting paid-- or people who are on welfare.
They have no skin in the game; they don't care if you suffer.
