Under Virginia law people charged with certain highly dangerous crimes aren't eligible for bail.
Yet Bouaichi's attorneys successfully argued that despite there being no cases of COVID19 in the facility where he was being held that he should be released on bail for his health.
Some idiot judge agreed with that and Bouaichi was released on bail.
He later went to Ms. Dominguez's apartment and shot her dead.
What's really amazing is that after he was released but before he killed Karla he rammed a police car. but local authorities weren't told about this new crime and hence didn't try to get his bail revoked.
Democrats across the country are arguing for or actually releasing dangerous criminals because they might be exposed to COVID19 in prison.
This might make sense for criminals who are in their 60s but it's insane for younger criminals who face essentially no risk of death from the virus. Older criminals are also less likely to be violent.
In California for example 18,300 criminals are on the street where they can prey on honest citizens in order to "protect" them from the virus.
We all agree that jails should do what they can to create a safe environment. But realistically speaking how is two guys in a cell any higher risk than two guys sharing an apartment? By staggering eating and time outside of cells schedules social distancing can be enforced.
Clearly Democrats are far more concerned that violent criminals might catch a disease that due to their age--violent criminals tend to be young--is unlikely to kill them than Democrats are about the new victims those criminals will create when they're allowed to roam the streets.
