New evidence that the FBI targeted and entrapped General Flynn

Under court order the government has produced evidence that shows that General Flynn is innocent.

In direct violation of the law the government failed to provide that information to Flynn when they were charging him with a crime.

It turns out that not only did the agents who interviewed Flynn think he wasn't lying but that after the FBI investigation into Flynn found no derogatory evidence the FBI planned to drop their investigation into Flynn.

But Peter Strzok  personally intervened and kept the case open.

We also know that Flynn pleaded guilty after his legal fees had nearly bankrupted him and the government threatened to charge his son with violating an obscure law from 1799 which has never been used in a prosecution and which is viewed by most as unConstitutional.

The new documents also reveal that Strzok apparently deliberately changed the original agent reports about the Flynn interview:

“Lisa, you didn’t see it before my edits that went into what I sent you,” Strzok texted his former lover at 5:37 p.m. on February 20, 2017. “I was trying to completely re-write the thing so as to save [redacted] voice and 2) get it out to you for general review and comment in anticipation of needing it soon.”

The redaction is likely a reference to Pientka, who took the original notes during the Flynn interview.

“[S]houdl say 1) trying to not completely re-write….,” Strzok quickly texted to Page. “[S]hould. f*ck. I did the edits better than I’m IMing[.]”

We also have found out that prior to Flynn's interview FBI agents were trying to figure out how to entrap Flynn.  Remember that Flynn thought the interview was actually simply a coordination meeting as part of the transition from the Obama to the Trump administration. He had no idea he was being investigated.

Since there was no valid investigation the FBI had no legal justification to interview Flynn and hence even if Flynn did lie it's not a crime.  It's a crime to lie to the FBI if the FBI has an open investigation but it's not a crime if the FBI randomly comes to your door with no evidence of any crime and starts asking you random questions.

Finally we need to ask ourselves if we want an FBI that threatens legal harassment against a suspects children as a standard way to get guilty pleas. Keep in mind that the FBI also deliberately concealed the threat to prosecute Flynn's son from the court which is itself unethical.
