What that means is that criminals are essentially instantly released.
An extreme example of the consequences of that policy is the case of Dijon Landrum.
He was first arrested, and released, for allegedly breaking into a vehicle in order to steal it.
He was released.
He was then arrested for walking through a neighborhood and stealing items from people's front lawns.
He was released.
Finally he was arrested for allegedly stealing a car and leading the police on a high speed chase.
He was released even though police departments tend to discourage high speed chases since there is a non-zero risk of innocent people being hurt.
Now what makes this truly amazing is that all 6 of these events, his crimes and his releases, span a 12 hour period.
Clearly Democrats who run California are more concerned about people like Dijon being incarcerated than they are about his victims.
In what universe should there be no bail for a high speed car chase which could have gotten innocent people killed?
In light of this it's not surprising that Democrats in California are pushing to release prison inmates to protect them from the China virus.
So far 7 high risk sex offenders have been released in California one of whom was rearrested for new sex crime charges within days of his release.
Given that for people under 60 and without preexisting conditions coronavirus is no worse than the flu this eagerness by Democrats to put young healthy criminals on the street is clear evidence of their priorities.
