Chinese foreign policy responsible for deaths in Italy and Iran

China has a policy called "One Belt and One Road" which uses money to buy control in foreign countries.

China "invests" in infrastructure projects in countries which borrow the money for the projects from China and use Chinese companies to do the work.

It makes poor countries who end up not being able to repay dependent on China.

But it also means that countries who buy into this have lots of Chinese in residence.

For example the two countries who have been hardest hit by COVID19, Italy and Iran, have lots of Chinese in residence.  There are more than 300,000 Chinese living in Italy and the outbreak in Iran started in a city where there is a large Chinese presence.

Ignoring conspiracy theories that the Chinese were behind the virus the simple reality is with that many Chinese being around the probability of the virus being spread is clearly high.

Now there are other factors as well such as Iranian incompetence and the fact that Italy has an amazingly old population due to a very low birth rate.  I recall seeing that the average age of people dying from corona virus in Italy is 81.

The bottom line is that allowing large numbers of people from police states which will cover up epidemics rather than treat them is hazerdous.
