Trump to close immigration loophole to protect the children

Under a bizarre agreement from the Clinton Administration the US can't hold children of illegal immigrants for more than 20 days no matter how long it takes to determine if they have a legitimate claim for asylum.  Note this doesn't apply to would be immigrants who legally apply for entry into the US and wait while free in Mexico for the ruling.

What previous administrations did was simply release the whole family into the US and of course since the people in question had no problem with breaking US immigration laws to improve their own economic status many of them never reported back for their hearings.

The open border crowd, old school Republicans who want cheap labor and leftists who want cheap labor and votes, were fine with this effectively open borders policy.

But Trump is actually concerned about all the Americans who suffer due to illegal immigrants driving down wages and stealing jobs from Americans.

Of course no one who wants to enter the US has to be in US custody for even a day.  They can apply for asylum at 11 locations in Mexico or at any legal border crossing. They can then wait in Mexico until their appeal is processed.

Even if they are caught illegally entering the US, which is why they're in custody, they can leave simply by returning to Mexico.  The fact that illegal immigrants choose to stay in custody shows that the conditions aren't as bad as Democrats say they are.

By eliminating this loophole Trump will reduce the value of the child trade, where children are bought and sold to use as props to help illegal immigrants who don't have children enter the country, thereby reducing the traffic in children.  He also helps American children by reducing the negative financial impact of low cost illegal labor on poor American families.

The Democrats will of course be upset because they want open borders to provide more votes--people who break our immigration laws won't hesitate to break our election laws-- and cheap labor.
