The tyrannical greed of Democrat Ilhan Omar: Student Loan edition

Ilhan Omar voluntarily took on debt to go to college and now she wants you to pay off her debt.

Even though only 40% of Americans go to college and even though she didn't need to go to college she expects you to pay for her college.

What's really amazing is that as a member of Congress she makes $174,000 a year while the average American who she wants to pay off her freely assumed debt makes $56,000 a year.

This is the epitome of the tyrannical greed and personal irresponsibility of modern Democrat politicians; you are to work hard to ensure that they, and the people who vote for them, get the lifestyle they want.  Omar wants free college and Ocasio-Cortez wants you to work hard to ensure that Democrat voters who could work but who don't want to can still have a comfortable lifestyle.

Notice that no one is calling for free trade school or for subsidizing the tools that non-college graduates like plumbers, carpenters, or electricians need to buy in order to do their jobs.  Only the "elite" mostly white mostly financially well off college graduates are going to benefit from this massive, $1.6 trillion, bribe by the Democrats.

As with almost every Democrat policy this one rewards the lazy and irresponsible while punishing people who take responsibility for their own lives.  People have paid off or who are paying off their student loans will benefit far less, if at all, while students who haven't been paying off their debts will benefit the most.

This policy also is a great bribe for Democrat voters, another prerequisite for modern Democrat policies.  People who have hundreds of thousands of dollars of voluntarily acquired college debt paid off by someone else will have a tendency to vote for the politicians who erased their debts.  Academics will benefit because this will allow colleges to charge obscene amounts of money since the students, or their parents, won't have to pay.

When you hear the Democrat presidential candidates proposing all sorts of "free" things ranging from paying off college debts to free medical care remember that nothing is free.  All the Democrats are doing is saying that you have to pay for everyone else's "free" stuff.

If you don't owe massive college debts because you were responsible you won't benefit from the government paying off the student loans of others but you will pay more taxes to ensure that those people don't have to take responsibility for their actions.

If you have worked hard and have health insurance you won't benefit from medicare for all but you will pay for it.

The Democrat positions are all aimed at helping people who are greedy and irresponsible.  We all agree on the need to help those who through no fault of their own need help but the Democrats want us to deny our own children the ability to attend an affordable college because of the higher taxes we will have to pay to ensure that irresponsible people are rewarded.
