California proves that Democrat rule is disastrous

Democrats constantly tell us that they would be great at ruling America because they're doing such a great job in California.  For a long time California has been a one party state with Democrats having complete control of all state level offices as well as all major cities.  Hence what we see in California is what we'll get at a national level if Democrats come to power.

Reality tells us that Democrats are either delusional, lying, or only care about the rich elites.

California has 12% of the US population but 34% of those on welfare. While the ultra rich Silicon Valley employees and the LA movers and shakers are living high on the hog the vast majority of Californians are struggling to survive.  Under Democrat rule income inequality is booming in California.

Due to Democrat policies restricting new housing the cost of putting a roof over their heads has become unaffordable for most Californians. People need to make over $300 thousand dollars a year to afford a house in San Francisco.  Houses near to the Facebook campus are going for $1.5 million and being snapped up by the very well paid Facebook employees.

Meanwhile due to generous welfare policies and Democrats tolerance for feces and needle filled streets all the major cities in California are suffering from a huge wave of homelessness.  San Francisco is losing convention business because few people want to vacation in a city where it's necessary to consult a poop map to avoid stepping on someone else's feces.  While the Democrats spend hundreds of millions of dollars on the homeless the problem gets worse.

Due to the squalor in Democrat run cities third world diseases like typhus are making a come back.  In LA huge piles of garbage sit for extended periods of time creating havens for massive rat populations.  The Democrats can spend billions on a high speed train to no where but they can't pick up the garbage.

Even though the quality of life in the state is drastically declining taxes are shooting through the roof. The state income tax is the highest in America and the sales tax--which is highly regressive hurting the poor the most--is also sky high.  In a first the Democrats are pushing a new tax on California citizens which will exist exclusively to pay for free health care for illegals.

Illegals are pampered by the Democrats because, contrary to the #FakeNews media claims, illegals probably vote.  The Democrats have given illegals drivers licenses and when those illegals get their license they're asked by a computer if they want to register to vote.  If they say they do want to vote and then lie by checking a box on the computer they will be registered to vote; their claim of being US citizens is never questioned.  But Democrats tell us that all is ok because the same people who break our immigration laws to improve their financial situation would never ever think of breaking our elections laws to elect Democrats who promise to give them more money.

This isn't surprising since Democrats have been saying that illegals should vote for years; San Francisco even lets them vote in local elections.

The roughly $30 billion dollars a year that Democrats spend on illegals could be used to pay down the California government workers pension plans which are between t$258 billion to $1 trillion dollar in debt.  But no the Democrats keep on spending knowing that at some point in the not too distant future government employees will stop getting the pension money that they were promised.

Already at least one major city in California is cutting their police department in order to pay for the pensions of former employees. Without massive cuts in the extremely generous pension plans for government employee's--plans that are far more generous than that of private sector workers-- many California cities won't be able to afford police or fire departments because their entire budget will be needed to pay pensioners.

California Democrats love illegals so much that they protect illegals who commit crimes in the US from deportation.  When the average person thinks about "sanctuary" cities they think the they protect some "honest" illegal who is working hard to support his family. The reality is that the majority of illegals who benefit from "sanctuary" are predators.  Under "sanctuary" rules if an illegal is arrested for burglary or DUI they aren't reported to ICE. "Honest" illegals who don't commit crimes get no benefit from that but the policy does ensure that illegals who commit more crimes in the US, often against fellow illegals, are kept in the US.

In California illegals get in state tuition in the Universities of California system even though they generally don't pay state taxes.  Americans coming from other states have to pay the full cost which is reasonable.  But clearly Democrats favor illegals over Americans from other states.  Also because there are more applicants to California state colleges than there are openings illegals are preventing California citizens from getting in.

Even though California's population has exploded but not a single new water reservoir has been built since the 1970s due to Democrat environmentalists.  The recent drought hurt Californians not because there wasn't enough water but because Democrats have prioritize nature over citizens.  While the drought has ended, thanks be to God, Democrats are maintaining their hurt the citizens by keeping water prices high approach rather than trying to improve the water supply.  California farmers are being driven out of business in order to protect the snail darter; a fish that is basically useless.  We all support responsible environmental policies but Democrats never even look at the impact of their policies on people. To Democrats all that matters is nature.

California Democrats support allowing illegals to get affordable government subsidized housing even when there aren't enough units for American citizens.

The bottom line is clear in every way Democrat rule has lead to suffering, poverty, and misery for all but the elites in California.

And Democrats are proud of that.
