Making false racism charges is finally punished

For decades now the left has been able to call any and everyone a racist with no cost.  Like all bad behavior that isn't punished the number and severity of false accusations has skyrocketed.

But now due to the result of Gibson's Bakery's lawsuit against Oberlin College that's starting to change.

Gibson's Bakery has been around for 134 years serving great products.  But Social Justice Wimps(SJW)  at Oberlin college tried to drive the bakery out of business because the bakery filed charges against three students, who happened to be Black, who were caught shoplifting.

Those students admitted that they were trying to steal wine and they testified that the bakery didn't racially profile them.  Such honesty indicates that they are basically good people who just made a mistake; note that the bakery isn't suing them.

In addition to the students testimony there was never any indication that the bakery would have treated 3 white shoplifters any differently and clearly Blacks who attend a college which costs $73,694 a year aren't suffering from a lot of discrimination. Either their parents are very well off or they're getting a huge amount of financial aid neither of which show evidence of them suffering from oppression.

Because to leftists Blacks can never commit a crime due to their oppressed status the SJWs at Oberlin, abetted by college employee's, waged a war against the bakery accusing it of racism with the intent of driving it out of business.

They nearly succeeded. The bakery's 3 generations of family owners stopped taking salaries and they had to lay off most of their employees.

A jury found that that sort of war of lies is not acceptable and awarded the family members at least $11 million in damages.  That amount may be increased in the punitive phase of the trial where it's determined if the college should be punished for its actions. The $11 million is what the jury held were the actual costs to the bakery due to Oberlin College's actions. That could be increased to as much as $33 million as a punishment to the college for deliberately trying to destroy a legitimate business.

Even some leftists are supportive of this decision but as should be expected some leftists are very upset that their fascist tactics have been called out.

As with most leftist claims of racism the claim against Gibson's was preposterous on the face of it; having students who tried to steal wine charged is what businesses do irrespective of the race of the offender.

Yet the leftists acted as though the bakery had a "no coloreds allowed" sign in the window. The bakery cheerfully served Blacks who paid for what they bought and there was no evidence of any sort  of real racism to be found.

We need to extend this to more of the left's lying machine. The libel and slander laws have to be reviewed so that people can't simply call any and everyone a racist without there being consequences.
