This is just one more example of how Democrats believe that religion should bow to whatever the morality Democrats subscribe to today. Remember that just a few years ago Obama repeatedly said that marriage shouldn't be redefined yet now Democrats are demanding that people of faith ignore God and listen to them.
At the same time the Democrats in California are demanding that Catholic priests violate the seal of the confessional. There is no evidence that in doing so any good would be achieved so the clear motivation is an animus to the Catholic Church that dares condemn the hedonism that Democrats are trying to impose on America.
To Democrats we the people have no rights other than what Democrats deign to give us. The First Amendment makes it clear that we have the right to live our religious beliefs yet Democrats say that we can only live their religious beliefs.
The modern Democrat party is clearly establishing itself as the enemy of anyone who believes that God gives us our rights and that we are first responsible to God in terms of how we live our lives.
The Democrat party's hatred of religion isn't based on science because science tells us that men who think they're women are wrong and that if our purpose is sending our genes to the future being gay is a defect just like Downs syndrome and hence trying to fix it, and not by killing either Downs babies or gays, is a good thing.
Democrat politicians reject that because they don't care about gays or the transgendered. They just use those groups to justify the oppression of religion because Christianity stands between Democrat politicians and complete control over every aspect of people's lives.
So long as God is the source of our rights, as the Founder said, Democrat politicians are limited in what they can do. But if they manage to oppress religion enough then they will be able to do what they really want to do; control every aspect of the lives of we the people.
