Governor Cuomo handled COVID19 far worse than Trump did

 Here's a timeline, from a great Twitter thread by @StuDoesAmerica ie Stu Burgueire, of how Cuomo reacted to the China virus

1/31/2020 Trump bans travel from China for everyone other than US citizens, permanent residents, and their families

2/4 Trump says that we have to be concerned about the China virus in the State of the Union speech that Nancy Pelosi ripped up

3/1 Cuomo announces first NYC confirmed COVID19 case. 

3/2 Cuomo argues that people are too worried about coronavirus saying “In this situation, the facts defeat fear. Because the reality is reassuring. It is deep breath time.". He told his daughter that she shouldn't be worried and nervous.

3/3 Cuomo ignores COVID19 and spends his time addressing the "vaping crisis". Clearly Cuomo doesn't think that he should be laser focused on the China virus. People are crowded into the room to condemn vaping and were probably spreading COVID19 at the same time.

3/4 Cuomo says "We have an epidemic caused by Coronavirus but we have a pandemic that is caused by fear.”

3/5 Cuomo says “Here, the facts do not merit the level of anxiety that we are seeing.” Yes that's the same Cuomo who is now condemning Trump for "downplaying" the risks of the virus

3/6 Cuomo compared COVID19 to the flu saying “We have more people in this country dying from the flu than we have dying from coronavirus.”

3/7 After downplaying the significance of COVID19 Cuomo suddenly declares a state of emergency.

3/8 Cuomo tries to assuage the worries of New Yorkers by saying “This is not the Ebola virus, this is not the SARS virus, this is a virus we have a lot of information on…”

3/8 Cuomo tells people that taking the subway and busses is fine just avoid nearly full vehicles; so much for social distancing and wearing masks.

3/9 Cuomo says “This is not the Ebola virus. This hysteria that you see, this fear that you see, the panic that you see is unwarranted. We have dealt with worse viruses.”

3/10 Cuomo after announcing how he's going to make prison inmates make hand sanitizer puts his hands near his face so he can sniff them and then asks another person to sniff his hands.  Apparently forgetting that we're not supposed to put our hands near our faces. Turns out that prison workers never did make hand sanitizer.

3/11 CNN lifted its ban on Chris Cuomo interviewing his brother Governor Andrew Cuomo

3/12 Cuomo announced that “There’s not going to be any quarantine” says "individual mobility is what we're all about" and that there won't be any "stay in your house rules."

3/13 Cuomo says that the fear is as much of a problem as the virus.

3/16 Trump announces 15 days to slow the spread

3/17 de Blasio says that's he considering a shelter in place order but Cuomo says it won't happen.

3/19 Cuomo says that businesses should reduce in office staff by 75%. Cuomo also said that a shutdown wouldn't happen

3/20 Cuomo locks down NYC

3/25 Cuomo issues an order that states "No resident[of a nursing home] shall be denied re-admission or admission to the (Nursing Home) solely based on a confirmed or suspected diagnosis of COVID-19". It also prohibited nursing homes from even testing incoming patients for the China virus.

Cuomo was told by medical professionals that his policy would lead to serious health issues in nursing homes but did nothing. That resulted in thousands of unnecessary deaths.

And these huge mistakes by Cuomo had very real and lethal consequences.  Here's the state by state death rate due to the China virus:

Note that Cuomo's New York has the second highest death rate of any state.

And really note that Florida and Texas, with Republican governors, have rates that are close to 3 times lower than Cuomo's New York does.

Of course the fact that the Republican governor of Florida specifically prohibited nursing homes from taking COVID19 patients probably had a lot to do with that.

Yet despite all this Democrats and the #FakeNewsMedia are saying that Trump did a horrible job, the Republican governors in Texas and Florida did a horrible job but Cuomo did a great job.

He's even written a book about how great he's been.  That despite the facts that shows that not only was his state the second worse in the country but that his nursing home order caused thousands of deaths.

Democrats don't care about you. They have no better plan to deal with COVID19. If they did Biden wouldn't be going around saying his "better plan" is to put all the governors in a room and tell them that masks are important.

All Democrats care about is power; not truth. That's why the are trying to blame Trump for their mistakes and act as though Trump could have someone stopped a pandemic.
