This November there's a Proposition, #16, on the Ballot which calls for systemic racial discrimination by the government and Democrats are all on board supporting it.
Back in 1996 California voters passed the following Proposition that condemned systemic racism:
The state shall not discriminate against, or grant preferential treatment to, any individual or group on the basis of race, sex, color, ethnicity or national origin in the operation of public employment, pubic education, and public contracting. No treating Blacks worse than whites and no treating whites better than Blacks.
Sounds like what every reasonable American should support. It's nothing more than the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.'s call to judge people based on the content of their character not the color of their skin.
But now rich Democrats in California are pushing to have that proposition overturned.
Which can only mean that they want the government to systemically discriminate based on race, sex, color, ethnicity or national origin. Otherwise they'd have no need to repeal the previous proposition.
But the government discriminating based on race is by definition systemic racism.
The Prop 16 team has $12 million to spend to convince Californians that systemic racism is a good thing. Interestingly 90% of that money came in contributions of $100,000. One individual has contributed $3.5M and loaned the campaign another $2M. PG&E which just emerged from bankruptcy gave $250,000.
