California Democrats declare that the First Amendment doesn't protect speech they don't like

The opening of one of the resolutions from the recent Democrat convention in California is:

"WHEREAS, Protecting First Amendment rights is critical, but is also limited to exclude hate speech using the concept that offending statements first should be viewed through the lens of the party experiencing the hate, and that Jews, LatinX, African-American, Asian Pacific Islander, Muslims, Disabilities and LGBTI communities can be targets of oppression and hate speech for a variety of reasons."

This defines hate speech as anything that would offend pretty much any group that votes Democrat.  Note that Catholics, members of the military, conservatives, and straight people aren't mentioned. That's not an accident. The left says that anyone who doesn't have the left's seal of approval can't be bothered by speech since those groups have power.

How Catholics have power in a state where the government is trying to make priests tell what they hear in the Sacrament of confession to the government is something only a leftist can understand.

Can you imagine if conservatives said that every comment supporting abortion is offensive hate speech since abortion is the murder of an innocent human being? The reality is that to the California Democrats the First Amendment only protects their speech.

Remember that Democrats keep telling us that California is how they want the whole country to be so that means that if they get power Democrats are going to work tirelessly to silence any voice they don't like and they're going to claim that the 1st Amendment is no longer part of their "living" Constitution.
