Yet when there were roughly a million Democrat contenders for the Democrat presidential nomination Obama said nothing. Obama could have ended the primaries way earlier by endorsing Biden from the get go which would have let Biden start campaigning against Trump earlier but Obama didn't do that.
The fact that Obama only endorsed Biden when Bernie stepped aside tells us that the only reason that Obama is endorsing Biden is that Obama hates Trump and would rather see a Democrat in the White House.
Given that Biden is now the presumptive nominee Obama either had to torpedo the Democrat cause or say "sure Biden is great".
Clearly Obama doesn't have a very high opinion of Biden which isn't shocking given that Biden said this about Obama:
"I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy," Biden said. "I mean, that's a storybook, man."

When even those who put the party ahead of the people only tepidly endorse Biden it's pretty clear that it's hatred for Trump not enthusiasm for Biden that's supporting the Biden campaign.
