Today we celebrate not only that God so loved us that He suffered and died on the Cross for us but that because of His love we have the chance to spend eternity with Him in Heaven.
God wants all of us to be saved and spend eternity in perfect happiness in His company:
This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. 1 Tim 2:3-4
Jesus didn't die for the human collective but for each one of us because He loves each one of us more than we love ourselves.
If only you, or I, had sinned Jesus would still have been tortured to death for us alone.
But today we rejoice that the battle with sin and Satan has been won for humanity.
Each one of us however still needs to win our own race, as Paul described it.
We need to pick up our cross, love God, and love our neighbor in order to become someone who will fit in in Heaven.
God isn't looking for excuses to send us to Hell.
In fact God only sends those to Hell who don't want to be with Him forever.
But if we choose our will over His in this life and don't repent we will not want to submit to His will in Heaven which means we will reject Him in the next life just like we reject Him in this life.
God has built us a 20 lane superhighway to Heaven but He loves us so much He allows us to drive off the edge of the road and end up in the wilderness if we so choose.
So choose God and choose His will every moment of your life so that when you meet Him you'll be eager to spend eternity with Him.
That's what He wants and that's what's best for you.
