The NBA is enforcing Chinese censorship of what Americans can say

The tyrants who run China are doing their best to crush the freedom loving people of Hong Kong.

In response Daryl Morey, the General Manager of the NBA's Houston Rockets tweeted:

“Fight for Freedom. Stand with Hong Kong.”

Given that the Chinese government is using totalitarian tactics to deny the people of Hong Kong the rights that the Chinese government promised them when Hong Kong reverted to Chinese control that's a noble statement.

But then Daryl deleted that tweet and posted this one:

1/ I did not intend my tweet to cause any offense to Rockets fans and friends of mine in China. I was merely voicing one thought, based on one interpretation, of one complicated event. I have had a lot of opportunity since that tweet to hear and consider other perspectives.

The NBA also issued an obsequious apology which was different in English and Chinese. The  Chinese version says that the tweet was inappropriate and that it "severely hurt the feelings of Chinese fans" while the English version says that the tweet was "regrettable" and that the tweet "deeply offended" many Chinese.

This is akin to the NBA issuing an apology to Hitler for a tweet supporting the right of Poland to be a free country after Hitler invaded.

So much for the moral indignation that so many in the NBA have leveled at Trump.

Trump hasn't put over 1,000,000 ethnic minorities into concentration camps where they are raped and their organs are forcibly extracted like the Chinese Communist government has yet it's clear that the leftist in the NBA are more concerned about the bad orange man than they are about the people of Hong Kongs fight for freedom.

What the NBA is doing is using its power to impose the censorship demands of the Chinese Communist government on Americans. Effectively in exchange for money the NBA has become an agent of Chinese repression in America.

Clearly the folks running the NBA are willing to sell out America and support Chinese tyranny for their 30 pieces of silver.
