Democrats declare that investigating foreign interference in the 2016 election is a crime

For over 2 years Democrats declared that Russian interference in the US 2016 election was a horrible thing and they said that it should be investigated to death; even if there was no evidence.

However in 2017 we learned that in fact Ukraine had interfered in the 2016 election but for Hillary.

Of course the #FakeNews media and the Democrats pushed that story down the rabbit hole so that they could continue to pretend that the Russians had helped Trump.

When St. Mueller infallibly declared that there was no collusion Democrats wanted to just forget the whole thing and concentrate on a new fake scandal they manufactured by having a Democrat "whistleblower" with no first hand knowledge of anything lie about Trump misusing his power to have the Ukrainians investigate Biden.

The problem is that the favor that Trump asked for wasn't investigating Biden but investigating the Ukrainian angle in the 2016 election interference.

Trump said:

"I would like you to do us a favor though because our country has been through a lot and Ukraine knows a lot about it. I would like you to find out what happened with this whole situation with Ukraine, they say Crowdstrike… I guess you have one of your wealthy people… The server, they say Ukraine has it. There are a lot of things that went on, the whole situation. I think you’re surrounding yourself with some of the same people. I would like to have the Attorney General call you or your people and I would like to get to the bottom of it. As you saw yesterday, that whole nonsense ended with a very poor performance by a man named Robert Mueller, an incompetent performance, but they say a lot of it started with Ukraine. Whatever you can do, it’s very important that you do it if that’s possible."

This occurred after the infamous request for Hellfire missiles by the Ukrainian President.  Note that Trump didn't mention a quid pro quo here. The fact that he didn't respond to the request was probably due to the fact that he had no idea what a Hellfire missile was or where the Pentagon and State Department stood on supplying them to Ukraine.  Presidents don't get into that level of detail in general.

But even if he had he wasn't asking them to investigate Biden; he was asking them to investigate the Ukraine's role in interfering in the 2016 election.  Democrats were very upset when their server was hacked and emails that showed that the DNC was breaking its own rules to help Hillary, as well as trying to overthrow the teachings of the Catholic Church, were made public.

But they weren't upset enough to let the FBI or any other government agency examine their servers. Instead they used Crowdstrike, a company owned by a very antiRussian Ukranian, to check out what happened.  

Of course in the world of the #FakeNews media the idea that a Ukraine company owned by a virulent antiRussian would ever lie about a hack in order to hurt Russia, even as Russia is in the process of invading Ukraine, is crazy talk.  But to honest people it's a viable option.

Apparently Trump thinks that the DNC server is in Ukraine. He wants Ukraine to investigate if Crowdstrike interfered in the election by lying about who hacked the DNC servers.

Given the insane theories that have no evidence supporting them that the Democrats have spent millions of taxpayer dollars investigating for the last 3 years Trump's request is amazingly reasonable.

But now Democrats are saying that trying to see if in fact Crowdstrike interfered in the election is not only bad it's actually criminal.

We can only wonder if they're trying to hide something or if they just will try and weaponize anything to attack Trump.
