Is Samantha Powers changing her story about her role in spying on the Trump campaign?

Back in 2017 when the whole issue of Obama appointee Samantha Powers, Obama's UN Ambassador, unmasking American names in Intelligence Community(IC) reports came up she told Congress that she didn't in fact do any of the 260 unmaskings the IC said she did.

Due to the law when the IC collects intelligence on US citizens the names of those citizens are redacted in the reports the IC sends out.  For example if the IC collected a conversation between Trump and an American the IC was spying on it wouldn't say Trump it would say US citizen 179.

If an authorized intel recipient says that they absolutely need to know the name of that citizen for national security reasons and the IC then supplies that name that's called unmasking.

Clearly if the Democrats were using the IC spying on Trump's campaign to help Hillary they'd need to know the real identity of the Americans swept up by the IC.

That's why it's extremely troubling that the UN Ambassador made 260 requests to unmask Americans. There is no credible reason why the UN Ambassador would need to unmask any American.

In 2017 Powers testified to the House Intelligence Committee, back before it became an adjunct of the Democrat party, and her testimony on this issue was summarized at the time by Trey Gowdy:

"The intelligence community has assigned this number[260] of requests to her. Her perspective, her testimony is, they may be under my name, but I did not make those requests," he said. "So, we've got to get to the bottom of that."

So Powers admitted that the unmasking requests had happened but that she didn't do them.

That means that she allowed third parties to use her identity to make requests of the IC which is completely verboten.  Using another persons identity on a classified computer is a serious offense for obvious reasons.

Hence either she was very negligent in her attention to security or she deliberately broke the rules.

Now however she seems to be saying, contrary to what the IC has said, that there were no unmaskings.

"It's[the unmasking claim] false," "It's completely false."

She could mean that it's completely false that she unmasked anyone or she could be saying that the unmasking never occurred.

Why would she change her story?  Back in 2017 she like her co-conspirators were sure that the Swamp was going to get rid of Trump through what the dishonest FBI agents referred to as their "insurance policy"; ie a coup based on lies about collusion with Russia.

But now that an honest Attorney General is looking into the various crimes that formed the basis of the whole Russian Collusion Big Lie she has to declare herself to be completely innocent.

Just as Obama's DNI is now admitting that Obama ordered the weaponization of the IC against Trump's campaign in order to protect himself could Powers now be changing her story rather than admit to what was clearly a criminal misuse of the IC against American citizens?

If she's not then either she's saying the IC is wrong about the unmaskings occurring, she saying that she grossly mishandled her security credentials, or she's saying she was hacked.

Whatever the case it's clear that the #FakeNews media is doing everything it can to make sure that we the people don't know the extent to which Obama weaponized the government against Trump.
