Biden lies about a trucker to embellish his life story

Joe Biden seems to be channeling Elizabeth Warren these days by lying about his past to make himself look more sympathetic.

He's telling everyone his wife and child were killed by a drunk truck driver back in 1972.

While we should be sympathetic to his grievous loss we shouldn't let him get away smearing an innocent man.

Curtis C. Dunn was the driver of the truck in the accident involving Biden's wife and child.

But the reality is that Curtis hadn't been drinking and it was Biden's wife who turned in front of the truck, possibly because her head was turned and she didn't see the truck, and caused the accident.

Now Curtis's daughter, Pamela Hamill, wants Biden to apologize and correct the record. While Biden has been pedaling this lie for nearly 20 years Hamill only heard about it this summer.

She assumed that Biden was being misquoted but upon seeing the video of Biden lying about her father she decided that Biden has to apologize.

The other question is why is Biden lying about this?  He could legitimately get a huge amount of sympathy over the loss of his wife and child without smearing the truck driver.  No one would care that the accident was caused by his wife because absolutely no one thinks that her mistake somehow justifies her death and the death of her child.

Why does Biden need to lie when telling the truth would be just as good?
