Democrats declare that civility is evil

The last question by Anderson Cooper in last nights Democrat "debate" has raised the ire of many Democrats.

He said:

“Last week, Ellen DeGeneres was criticized after she and former President George W. Bush were seen laughing together at a football game. Ellen defended their friendship, saying, ‘We’re all different and I think that we’ve forgotten that that’s OK, that we’re all different,...“So in that spirit, we’d like you to tell us about a friendship that you’ve had that would surprise us and what impacts it’s had on you and your beliefs.”

Democrats reacted swiftly to condemn Cooper's attempt to see if perhaps Ellen's action could be a step back towards civility in political discourse.

Given that armed leftists pretending to be anti-fascists are using violence to shut down speech they don't like and there is talk of civil war most Americans think recovering the civility of the past where we could disagree without condemning is important.

Given that the Democrats had an entire town hall last week to push for the right of men to use women's bathrooms and to withdraw the non-profit status of churches that didn't support the redefinition of marriage was a question about civility really that much of a waste of time?

The fact that openly gay ultra left wing DeGeneres is being attacked because she dared be with a former president and not be angry is a sign of how unhinged our national discourse has become.

Can you imagine how Democrats would react if some conservative had been at a ballgame with Obama and not been civil?

The message being projected by many Democrats is that the Americans who disagree with them on anything are their enemies not fellow citizens with different opinions.  But that it's wrong for the people who disagree with Democrats to be anything less than perfectly polite to Democrats.

The rise of extremism is a solely left wing Democrat phenomena.  It's great news that Ellen was willing to be civil and it's a very bad omen that Democrats are condemning that.
