Democrats want you defenseless and afraid like the people of Hong Kong

It's hard to pretend that Democrat politicians actually want to ban guns in order to protect us when they tend to have armed guards to protect themselves and they demonstrate a complete lack of knowledge about guns.

Beto O'Rourke--fake Hispanic-- conflates AK-47s with AR-15s.  Now anyone who knows anything about guns knows that that is amazingly stupid.  The AK-47 is a Russian military weapon, a machine gun, that is used by soldiers around the world.  The AR-15 is a hunting rifle which can't fire automatically and which isn't used by soldiers.  Beto and his fellow Democrats get confused because the AR-15 looks similar to an M-16 which is a machine gun and which is used by soldiers around the world.

Based on his ignorance O'Rourke wants to force the millions of Americans who own an AR-15, including the guy who stopped a mass shooting in Texas with his AR-15, to turn their weapons over to the government.

Joe Biden is calling for the banning of any weapon with a magazine that holds more than one bullet.

"The idea that we don’t have elimination of assault type weapons, magazines that can hold multiple bullets in them, it's absolutely mindless,"

That would make every gun in America today, with the exception of revolvers, illegal. The whole purpose of a magazine is to avoid forcing the owner to reload after every shot when he's being attacked. Single shot guns went out of style in the 19th century but Biden wants to bring them back.

Biden apparently also believes that the 2nd Amendment only protects we the people's right to own ineffective weapons. Yet that's not what the Framers intended. Back then they had just won a war against a tyranny and they were acutely aware of how politicians tend towards wanting to rule we the people rather than represent us. Hence they wanted the people to have the power to just say no to tyranny.

As the people of Hong Kong are showing us today a disarmed population can't really stand up against a tyranny. Ghandi's tactics worked in India because the British weren't willing to mass murder Indians who were peacefully demonstrating. Real tyrants, like the Chinese, on the other hand have no problem murdering tens of millions of innocent people to ensure that they, the tyrants, stay in power.

Mao said that political power grows from the barrel of a gun and by working hard to ensure that Americans are disarmed Democrats are showing that they agree with him.

But it's not just because they want us to be unable to overthrow the tyranny that they are trying to impose on us that Democrats want us to be defenseless.

As one cop said when you need help in seconds cops are just minutes away. Despite the bravery and commitment of the police in America the simple reality is that they are minutes away from your home; there just aren't enough of them to be seconds away. But when someone breaks into your house or is trying to carjack your car you need to be able to defend your life within seconds.

Armed Americans can and do protect themselves when the police just can't get there fast enough. Many potential mass shootings were ended when a good guy with a gun engaged the shooter.

Further honest gun owning Americans don't go off and shoot people. Only 10% of criminals who use guns get their guns legally so that means that gun control really only impacts honest people who aren't going to misuse their guns.

But if we the people are defenseless then we will tend to turn to the government for protection and we'll be more likely to give the government more power over us in exchange for safety and that's what Democrat politicians want; more power over us.

It's not surprising that the same politicians who say you don't have religious liberty only freedom of worship want to ensure that you can't over throw the tyranny that they're trying to establish.
