This is AOC's first tweet:
You are a member of Congress. Why are you “lending” guns to people unsupervised who can’t pass a basic background check?— Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (@AOC) September 4, 2019
The people you’re giving a gun to have likely abused their spouse or have a violent criminal record, & you may not know it.
Why on earth would you do that? https://t.co/TQFjcLQebO
She followed up by basically defending her claim that Crenshaw's friends were untrustworthy.
You said w/ universal background checks, you wouldn’t be able to “lend” guns to friends.— Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (@AOC) September 4, 2019
If a background check would be a problem, then you shouldn’t “lend” a gun.
And btw, NY is one of the safest states in the country when it comes to guns, incl rural areas.
Try to keep up. https://t.co/4RV4DNg7FM
For example at a party at Chrenshaw's house a woman recalls that she left something at her store and needs to get it before the next morning. But the store is in a neighborhood that's not 100% safe late at night. The woman would have had no reason to ever have a background check but she may be highly proficient with firearms from having used other peoples guns so that giving her one for self protection would be perfectly safe.
It's unclear why a supposed feminist like AOC is so eager to ensure that women can't protect themselves.
It's not surprising that AOC assumes that the friends of a war hero are likely to be monsters; perhaps she's projecting.
