Colleges are to blame for student debt

The cost of college has risen much faster than other costs while the quality of their product has generally speaking declined.

By colluding with the government to give young people the option to saddle themselves with crippling debt while not providing the learning they need to secure a job that will allow them to repay that debt colleges have been exploiting kids to enrich themselves.

That's the sort of behavior that's classically been frowned upon.

But now the Democrats want to reward their friends in academia by making the non-college graduates in America--plumbers, contractors, electricians, welders, etc--pay for the mostly white folk who got a degree in "Gender Studies" and who can't find a job.

In the end it's of course the students fault for taking on obscene levels of debt they would have been much less likely to do so if the colleges, in collusion with their friends in government, hadn't worked hard to convince them that doing so was a good thing.
