While interviewing disgraces former FBI head Comey CNN's chief international correspondent, Christian Amanpour, declared her love of fascism and her hatred of free speech.
She asked Comey:
I’ve got one question because you just said “lock her up” or “lock me up.” Of course, “lock her up” was a feature of the 2016 Trump campaign. Do you in retrospect wish that people like yourself, the FBI, I mean, the people in charge of law and order, had shut down that language, that it was dangerous potentially, that it could’ve created violence, that it’s kind of hate speech? Should that have been allowed?
What Amanpour was saying is that we the people expressing our deeply held evidence based belief that Hillary Clinton was guilty of grossly mishandling classified data and that she got away with it because of her connections is hate speech and that someone the First Amendment doesn't apply to speech she doesn't like.
That's a full fledged endorsement of fascism and a rejection of the concept of freedom of speech.
Even Comey said that that is not what government is supposed to do though he did critique Republicans for having the audacity to speak truth to power. After all that's something only Democrats can do in the mind of people like Comey.
What makes this all the more amazing is that pretty much everyone on CNN has been declaring for two years that Trump was a traitor who belonged in prison. Apparently in Amanpour's eyes calling for Hillary being thrown in jail is hate speech but calling for Trump to be in jail--even though there was not a shred of evidence he'd done anything wrong--is being a good citizen.
At the core of fascism is the idea that the elites should rule us and that they should be protected from any critique by the people. Which is precisely what Amanpour was asking for; the full power of the FBI to be directed at silencing any criticism of the Democrats by we the people.
