Woman bites Dog; Democrat condemns religious bigotry

While a large portion of the people who vote Democrat are good folks who have been lied to so much they don't really know what they're doing it's rather rare to find a Democrat politician who isn't a monster.

Since we'd like the Democrats to become less insane it's good to extend kudos to Democrat politicians who say sane things.

One such example is Democrat Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard.  She's written an op-ed in which she condemns the anti-Catholic bigotry of her female colleges in the Senate--Hirono, Feinstein, and Harris.

"While I oppose the nomination of Brian Buescher to the U.S. District Court in Nebraska, I stand strongly against those who are fomenting religious bigotry, citing as disqualifiers Buescher’s Catholicism and his affiliation with the Knights of Columbus. If Buescher is “unqualified” because of his Catholicism and affiliation with the Knights of Columbus, then President John F. Kennedy, and the ‘liberal lion of the Senate’ Ted Kennedy would have been “unqualified” for the same reasons.
Article 6 of the U.S. Constitution clearly states that there “shall be no religious test” for any seeking to serve in public office."

The sad thing is that it took amazing courage for Gabbard to write this given the anti-Catholic bigotry enshrined in the Democrat party today. Even "Catholic" Democrats, like Pelosi and Durbin, are eager to attack anyone who actually follows what the Church teaches.

So send Gabbard and email and chide her for not supporting Buescher who is eminently qualified but commend her for calling for an end to Democrat religions bigotry.
