Back then Democrats supported the BRIDGE act which was essentially the same as Trump's offer to extend the time that illegals could stay in the US without facing deportation.
Yet now they reject it.
Why?
Because Democrats are for illegals all the time. While Trump's compromise would give Democrats one thing they wanted they refuse to support anything that would reduce the flow if illegals into the US. Illegals are the lifeblood of the Democrat party since they provide free labor to the Democrats today, they did a lot of the ballot harvesting that won the Democrats multiple House seats in California, and Democrat votes, both today since we know that people who don't respect our immigration laws are unlikely to respect our voting laws, and in the future when Democrats hope to create an open border country where the minute anyone enters the US they become citizens.
That illegals hurt the poor in America by draining welfare resources and by driving down the wages of the working poor is apparently of no concern to Democrats.
Which isn't surprising since it's clear that what Democrats care about isn't the "little guy" but power. Anything that will increase the power of Democrats over every aspect of our lives is good anything that reduces Democrat power is bad and everything else doesn't matter to them.
