He says whatever comes into his head at the moment. He really has an ego. ... How has he gotten away with not turning over his tax returns? The press seems to be very gentle with him on that."
Call me crazy but that sure sounds partisan to me.
Even Chris Cillizza says that Ginsburg is highly partisan. Here's the headline of an article he wrote:

He cites quotes from Ginsburg like this one:
"I can't imagine what this place would be -- I can't imagine what the country would be -- with Donald Trump as our president," Ginsburg told The New York Times in a July 2016 interview in her Supreme Court chambers.
Note that Ginsburg made her comment before the election and hence was effectively campaigning for Hillary; can't get much more partisan than that.
But sadly I don't think that either Flake or the Democrats really object to partisanship on the Court; they only object to honesty on the Court.
