Being a leftist means never having to say you're sorry

I thought Flake demanding yet another FBI investigation of Kavanaugh was a horrible stab in the back to conservatism.  At best I thought it would delay the process and give the Democrats more time to manufacture additional bogus claims and at worst I thought the politicized FBI would either drag its heels or endorse one of the fake claims only to have to retract that assertion later.

Instead we now know that the FBI did a professional and expeditious job which helped convince some "moderates" to support Kavanaugh.  Further the "optics" of allowing that investigation went over well with some voters.

So Flake was right and I was wrong.  Apologies to Flake.

In making that apology I've demonstrated that I'm not on the left.

Think about it have you ever heard a leftist admit that they were wrong?

After years of investigation and no evidence of Trump colluding with Russia the left is still declaring they're right instead of saying "Well we thought it was true but we were wrong".

When science showed that the unborn are human beings from the moment of conception leftists didn't apologize for having said that the unborn are nothing more than a blob of cells.  They even continue to claim that long after science has settled the question.

When all the "witnesses" that Dr. Ford cited said she was wrong instead of saying that perhaps Dr. Ford had been assaulted but she misremembered the details including who attacked her they continued to insist that Kavanaugh was guilty.

When Trump showed that 4% GDP growth was possible instead of saying they were sorry for declaring that 2% growth was the new upper limit leftist tried to give credit to Obama.

When every time socialism is tried it results in poverty and tyranny leftists never apologize but declare that if we give them the power they will get it right.

The truth is that leftists never ever say they're sorry or admit they were wrong when a position they hold is prove to be wrong.

But as the comments by many conservatives about how Flake was right to ask for the investigation show conservatives are willing to admit our mistakes and apologize; look at Saint Pope John Paul II apologizing for mistakes made by Catholics in the past for example.

This illuminates a fundamental difference between conservatives and leftists; conservatives are willing to submit to a higher authority than themselves in general, i.e. God, and are aware of their fallibility while leftist's self-image is one that would make the Pope's infallibility look second rate.

Which in turn points to the essentially fascist nature of the modern Democrat party. 

After all if you view yourself as perfect then it makes sense to reject the rule of law since the leftist elite is both too good to be prosecuted and so wise that they don't need to follow the rule of law to determine who is truly guilty.

Similarly it's fine for the "perfect" ones to bypass the Democratic process and use the courts to impose their beliefs on the population because by definition whatever the left wants is what is best.

Further if the “perfect" left loses an election there must be something wrong and hence that election is not legitimate; after all the hoi polloi can't be trusted to control their own lives and decide how much soda they can drink.

Because, in their own eyes, leftists are our betters they fully believe that the First Amendment shouldn't apply to speech that they, in their wisdom, "know" to be false.  Even worse they believe that the fact that they can't tolerate hearing "lies" is a sign of their superiority.

And of course there is no way we knuckle dragging fly over folk should be allowed to own guns especially since the average leftist is scared silly of the darn things.

However while most leftists are afraid of guns they're not afraid to lend support to, or at best not mention, the extensive use of guns and violence to impose their agenda on America.

From a supportive, or at worst grudgingly condemning but qualified, perspective on the use of violence by Antifa to burying stories about leftists trying to murder Republicans leftists demonstrate their belief that because they're "perfect" it's fully justified for them to use violence to ensure that the American people are forced to conform to the left's vision.

The average American has no particular desire to run his neighbor’s life. But the left's refusal to ever admit to being wrong is proof that one of the defining characteristics of the modern left is that they not only want to run our lives they also believe that they have the right to do so as a result of their "superior" nature.

That's why it's imperative that we deny the Democrats any power because when given power they use it to entrench themselves and oppress the people.
