SF is silent on Antifa; calls NRA domestic terrorists

The San Francisco Board of Supervisors is demonstrating their hatred for the 1st Amendment and their tyrannical desire to silence any voice that doesn't agree with them by passing a resolution labeling the NRA a domestic terrorist organization.

To honest people terrorists are folks who advocate and execute attacks on defenseless civilians.  Yet there is not a jot of evidence that the NRA has ever advocated violence--unless the Democrats in SF are saying that self-defense is violence-- of any kind.

Here's what the SF board said about the NRA in their resolution:

"WHEREAS, The National Rifle Association musters its considerable wealth and organizational strength to promote gun ownership and incite gun owners to acts of violence, and

WHEREAS, The National Rifle Association spreads propaganda that misinforms and aims to deceive the public about the dangers of gun violence, and

WHEREAS, The leadership of National Rifle Association promotes extremist positions, in defiance of the views of a majority of its membership and the public, and undermine the general welfare, and

WHEREAS, The National Rifle Association through its advocacy has armed those individuals who would and have committed acts of terrorism; and

WHEREAS, All countries have violent and hateful people, but only in America do we give them ready access to assault weapons and large-capacity magazines thanks, in large part, to the National Rifle Association’s influence; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the City and County of San Francisco intends to declare the National Rifle Association a domestic terrorist organization; and, be it..."

There is not a single example of the NRA inciting gun owners to acts of violence and the SF board knows that.  None the less they're willing to lie through their teeth in order to eliminate the First Amendment rights of millions of Americans.

Notice that according to the SF board the NRAs speech is "propaganda".  Apparently to Democrats any view that isn't aligned with theirs isn't speech it's "propaganda". Given that the claims in this resolution are false it's clear that to an objective observer it's the SF board that is engaging in propaganda not the NRA.

What is really amazing is that the SF board says that because the NRA "promotes extremist positions" the NRA is a terrorist organization.  By that definition Ocasio-Cortez is a terrorist because her Green New Deal which is designed to completely remake the US economy and stop Americans from eating beef is certainly extreme.

The reality is that the SF board is unable to explain why in locations where gun control is extreme, like France and Chicago, murder and terrorism are also rampant.  Hence since they are unable to intellectually defend their desire to abrogate the 2nd Amendment without actually going through the Constitutional process to do so they are trying to silence all dissenting voices.

Historically the 1st Amendment was designed precisely to protect "extremist" speech since one man's extremism is another man's truth.  That's the reasoning that Democrats used to justify legalizing pornography but now, while they want to keep porn legal, they don't want to use that same reasoning to allow people who disagree with them to speak.

Saying that the NRA "arms" terrorists is even worse than saying that companies that make beer "arm" drunk drivers.  The NRA neither manufactures guns nor sells them.  What the SF board is saying is that by declaring that Americans should have their 2nd Amendment rights the NRA is somehow responsible for any illegal activity Americans do which involves guns.

The SF board spends nearly 1/2 a million dollars a year providing free needles to drug addicts; needles that end up littering the streets of SF. Do you think for a moment that they would accuse themselves of giving some child AIDS when that child stuck herself with a free needle that was left lying on the street?  But they say that the NRA is responsible for people who go nuts and commit mass murder.

Apparently the SF board feels that "hateful" people shouldn't have access to guns.  Do they really want to keep guns out of the hands of Black Lives Matter members who talk about killing cops or Antifa thugs?  Unlikely.  The reality is that they want to disarm honest Americans so we can't protect ourselves.

It's also unclear on what basis the SF board concludes that the agenda that the NRA supports is rejected by most of the NRA membership.  It appears to be just one more lie designed to smear an organization that SF board members despise.

What really reveals the hypocrisy of the SF board is that they haven't passed a resolution condemning Antifa for its use of violence to suppress speech that isn't supportive of Democrat objectives despite Antifa violence occurring just across the bay in Berkley.  Searching the SF board website for resolutions about Antifa turns up nothing.

While the Left in America is horrified at the thought of Trump classifying Antifa as a domestic terrorist organization, and while Ocasio-Cortez urgespeople to put up bail for violent Antifa members, the SF board wants to classify an organization whose only "sin" is advocating for the 2nd Amendment and which has absolutely no history of violence or condoning anything other than self-defense as a terrorist group.

The "logic" used in this resolution could be turned against any organization in America which the SF board feels is "extremist"; like the Catholic Church for its opposition to abortion or the Republican party for its support of religious liberty and its opposition to allowing men to use women's bathrooms.

The sad reality is that this is nothing less than a declaration of war on the 1st and 2nd Amendments by people who are unwilling to use the Constitutionally defined process to let the people of America decide if in fact they want to rewrite the Constitution.

This is just one more attempt by Democrats  to silence speech so as to keep the American people in the dark so that, as the Washington Post puts it, democracy can die.
