If white privilege is real why did Elizabeth Warren pretend to be a Native American?

We're constantly told by the elites that white people have special privileges.

That's simply not true.  White people who drop out of school or do drugs or have children out of wedlock when they're young don't do very well. But people of color who stay in school, wait to have kids until they're married, and don't do drugs do just as well as white people.

What the left refers to as white privilege is nothing more than following the formula for success in America; work hard, take care of yourself and your family, avoid destructive behaviors.

But there is a system of systematic racist discrimination in America; but it targets white people and Asians not people of color.

In a competition for college the white son of poor Ukrainian parents who just recently fled to the US is discriminated against in favor of the Black daughter of two Blacks who are successful professionals solely based on his race.

Similarly Asian kids have to score much higher on tests in order to be admitted to colleges than Black kids do.

Barrack Obama's kids are treated the same as a Black kid coming out of the failed inner city Chicago schools.

While there is good reason to take into account the circumstances of a college applicant--someone who gets say 1800 on their SAT who went to a failed inner city public school is likely a lot more intelligent than someone who got the same score but who went to an elite private prep school and who had tutors for their SAT test--race alone is not one that's relevant.

Clearly Elizabeth Warren thought that she benefitted by pretending to be a Native American; something that would make absolutely no sense if America is as racist and discriminatory as she says it is.
