As a supposed way to reduce HIV transmission the leftists in California make it
easy for drug addicts to get new hypodermic needles. San Francisco alone
spends more than $500,000 a year for those needles--how many poor people could you help with that sort of money?. Of course many of those after they're used end up on the streets or on beaches where children can end up stabbed with them.
So basically the left is encouraging covering CA with dangerous used needles.
California has also made it
illegal for restaurants to give out plastic straws unless customers ask for them. San Francisco is going further and
banning plastic straws.
According to the EarthDay website--I don't know about you but I care about the earth each and every day not just once a year-- here are the sources of ocean plastic:
So the US is better than North Korea. China adds 33 times more plastic to the ocean than the US. But we need to panic over straws in the US? Really?
How about we panic over hypodermic needles instead?

This picture is from a San Francisco chronicle article on the problems being faced by SF residents due to the needle pollution. Not in the middle of no where in the Pacific but in a city near to where children live and play.
