The Democrat nurse who isn't.

In Illinois Democrat Lauren Underwood is running for Congress.  In her ads she is shown as a nurse helping patients.

The only problem is that while she did get a college degree in nursing she has never actually worked as a nurse.  Upon graduating she eschewed helping the sick saying "ICU (intensive care unit) or mother-baby, like that just wasn’t my interest," and instead headed out to DC where she interned for Senator Obama.

In a sense this sort of misrepresentation is common among Democrats.  Instead of actually working to help the sick Underwood feels that working in government "preparing memos and briefing materials" for Obama's U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services was what really helped people; and it had the benefit of her not having to get her hands dirty dealing with real people who were sick.

But isn't that what Democrats do in general?  Studies have shown that they give less of their own time and money to charity than conservatives.  Instead they believe that they're being philanthropic when they support laws that make other people, the rich, pay more taxes. But just as nurses who don't help patients aren't really nurses people who demand that other people give money to help the poor instead of giving their own money aren't really charitable.  In fact they're selfish.

Underwood is just one more example of "Who they say a Democrat is isn't at all what that Democrat really is".
