A study by the University of Southhampton shows that China could have prevented 95% of China's Corona virus cases

You can find the study here but the key section is this:

The early detection and isolation of cases was estimated to prevent more infections than travel restrictions and contact reductions, but integrated NPIs[Non Pharmaceutical Intervetions, ie stuff other than drugs] would achieve the strongest and most rapid effect. If NPIs could have been conducted one week, two weeks, or three weeks earlier in China, cases could have been reduced by 66%, 86%, and 95%, respectively, together with significantly reducing the number of affected areas.

Clearly the Chinese Communist regimes trying to hide rather than address the corona virus had a massive impact on cases in China and as a result cases in the world as a whole.

While the study doesn't address the global impact it's logical to presume that with 95% fewer Chinese infected the number of satellite outbreaks around the world would be much fewer too.

The good news is that this study indicates that the social distancing and lock down measures that the US is taking are in fact likely to stop the pandemic.

It also explains why the "hug a Chinese" campaign in Italy contributed to the massive explosion of the COVID19 virus in that country.

Once we get out of this crisis what's important to note is that while Trump was implementing NPIs like the travel bans Democrats like Joe Biden were condemning him.

The after action report on this crisis will show that Trump was the apolitical adult in the room who did whatever was best for the American people.

After the 2008 financial crisis instead of reducing regulations and cutting taxes Obama refused to stray from the Big Government Democrat party line. But in the COVID19 crisis Trump is fully willing, as are most conservatives, to expand government temporarily in order to help those who are suffering.

Democrats govern based on rigid theories, what works out best for themselves, and the belief that they know better than we do where as Republicans always are looking out for we the people.
