Trump calls for a National Day of Prayer; something no Democrat would do

You may have heard the old saying "pray as though everything depends on God, act as though everything depends on you."

It makes sense; clearly Christians know that God loves us and is eager to answer our prayers.

But it's also true that God uses us to help one another. God doesn't drop manna to feed the poor but He commands us to love our neighbor which means we should share what we have with those in need.

Hence Trump calling us to pray to God for help with the coronavirus makes sense.

Contrary to what secularists and atheists say prayer works.

When the Muslim armies were sweeping the world and enslaving and persecuting Christians Europe was in danger.  Prior to the massive naval battle at Lepanto the Pope had all of Europe saying rosaries to ask God to protect Christianity.  The total Christian victory at Lepanto went against the odds and clearly God played a role.  As a result Europe stayed Christian and didn't become another backward region like the Muslim Middle East.

While God always answers our prayers His answer isn't always what we want.  He knows what's best for us and perhaps this disease in the long run will create more good than bad.  But we know that God loves us and He will always do what's best in response to our prayers.

Meanwhile Trump is working hard to engage America's private sector genius to ensure that we do all we can to keep Americans safe in the face of this new virus.

Can anyone imagine a modern Democrat politician calling for a day of prayer?  In 2012 the majority of the Democrat convention attendees clearly wanted God taken out of their platform.

Similarly Hillary Clinton stated that religions would have to change what they teach in order to conform to the modern Democrat party's hedonistic agenda.

While Democrat politicians will invoke God to get votes, like Biden claiming to be Catholic while pushing for abortion and redefining marriage, they don't seem to actually believe that God is real enough to pray to.

That's a very bad thing.

Irrespective of whether or not God exists the cornerstone of American freedom is that we declare that our rights come from God not government.  Because rights that come from government aren't inalienable; what the government gives it can always take away.

Hence Democrat politicians are likely to view our rights as something they grant us rather than something that God gives us. Which in turn means that Democrat politicians are more likely to think that they can change those rights.

We see this when Democrat politicians reject the right of the unborn to life, of people to say things that Democrats don't like, and of people to defend themselves.

To be fair there are some decent Democrat politicians left but only at the local level.  Pro-life Democrats, like Dan Lipinski--Congressman from Illinois--, are being primaried out of the party and all the Democrat Presidential candidates, House and Senate leaders, and #FakeNews movers and shakers view God as a nothing burger at best.
