The executive editor of the New York Times admits their sole purpose was to push the Trump Russia lie

For over two years the NYT has led the charge against Trump by constantly claiming that Trump had colluded with Russia to win the 2016 election. They did so despite the fact that the only "evidence" for this claim was a dossier paid for by Hillary Clinton containing unsubstantiated often falsifiable claims by anonymous sources in Russia which were collected by a British national.

In a talk to his team the executive editor, Dean Baquet, said:

"We built our newsroom to cover one story, and we did it truly well," Baquet said. "Now we have to regroup, and shift resources and emphasis to take on a different story."

Note that he doesn't mention that Mueller showed that the "story" that the NYT pursued was a big fat lie.  He also doesn't talk about returning the two Pulitzer prizes they won for lying about Trump. But then the NYT has still refused to return the Pulitzer they won for lying about the mass slaughter of Ukrainians by Stalin; they claimed it never happened which won them a Pulitzer.

Baquet says that Trump has divided the nation. What he really means is that leftists are fascists who will do anything to nullify an election they don't like so unlike conservatives who accepted with sadness Obama's election leftists today are engaging in violence and resistance.  Oddly when Obama won and conservatives were really upset the NYT didn't blame Obama for dividing the nation.

Apparently staffers at the NYT disliked the factually correct headline "Trump urges unity vs Racism" because they "care so much".  The real reason is that they know the truth will get Trump reelected and their commitment to honest journalism is far weaker than their commitment to the Democrat party.

It appears that from now to the election instead of peddling the Russian collusion lie they're going to publish the "Trump is a racist" lie. They know it's a lie but they don't care.

We know they know it's a lie because Trump did clearly and unequivocally condemn racism and called for all Americans to unite against it and they know that.
