In a clear attempt to prove that that was a good measure of his understanding of modern political issues he's now declared that the Constitution is evil because it doesn't contain the word "Woman".
Do you know how many times the word "Woman" is mentioned in the Constitution?— Eric Swalwell (@ericswalwell) May 1, 2019
Zero.
That is unacceptable. Women must be equally represented and equally protected. #ERANow
There are obvious problems with this. First the word "Man" also never appears in the Constitution.
Even worse Swalwell's claim depends on our assuming that the words "people", "person", and "citizens" do not apply to women:
Now do the word "man."— Amy Swearer (@AmySwearer) May 1, 2019
Also zero.
The words "people," "person," and "citizens" are used dozens of times, and the last time I checked women are all three of those things. It's patronizing (and worse, dehumanizing) to suggest that we're not equally people or citizens. https://t.co/DmiOiCffHS
Hence for Swalwell's claim to make any sense he has to believe that women aren't citizens, people, or persons.
Normally the best assumption was that Swalwell was just lying as is the norm for Democrat politicians these days but given his belief that the government would nuke Texas in order to defend a tyranny it's quite credible that Swalwell honestly knows so little about the Constitution that he thought that his point was credible.
Perhaps his fellow Democrats can start a Go Fund Me campaign to pay for Swalwell to take a course on the Constitution to avoid further embarrassment.
