“I’m not about to be in the middle to tell a woman what to do with her body. She has a right to make a decision herself,”
“Some kids is unwanted, so you kill ’em now, or kill ’em later. You bring ’em in the world unwanted, unloved, and you send ’em to the electric chair. So you kill ’em now, or kill ’em later. But the bottom line of this is that I think we shouldn’t be making this decision.”
First of course a woman's unborn daughter isn't part of her body; her daughter's DNA is very different from her own DNA for example.
Second there are around 1 million babies aborted each year while around 25 people are executed each year.
So even if we accept Roger's reasoning we should only be aborting around 25 babies a year not a million.
But of course the obvious point is that the vast majority of "unwanted" children turn out to be just fine. By Rogers reasoning we should go and kill everyone who was "unwanted" no matter what their age. Interestingly the Rev. Jesse Jackson was "unwanted". He's said that his mother considered aborting him and if abortion had been legal at the time she would have aborted him.
While I disagree with the Reverends politics I'm glad he was allowed to live. But if Rogers had his way Jesse Jackson would have been executed in his mothers womb.
It's also odd that the Democrats who are so opposed to the death penalty in part because innocent people are sometimes executed would support abortion when 1 - 25/1,000,000 = 99.9975% of the babies being killed will not end up on death row.
