Ocasio-Cortez doesn't understand biology

The ever insightful Democrat Ocasio-Cortez tweeted this about abortion:

Abortion bans aren’t just about controlling women’s bodies.

They’re about controlling women’s sexuality. Owning women.

From limiting birth control to banning comprehensive sex ed, US religious fundamentalists are working hard to outlaw sex that falls outside their theology.

First thing to note is not allowing a woman to kill her unborn daughter isn't controlling a woman's body. If a woman doesn't want to get pregnant she just doesn't have sex.  If she has sex she knows, since no form of birth control is 100% effective, that she's risking helping create a new human being.

That she doesn't like the consequences of her free choice to have sex, only around 1% of abortions are due to rape, a mother doesn't have the right to murder her unborn daughter.

No one wants to control women's sexuality or to own them.  Saying that women can't murder their unborn daughters to avoid the consequences of their own freely chosen actions isn't about controlling much less owning women any more than our laws against other forms of murder are about controlling or owning people.

Limiting birth control?  This is a great insight into Ocasio-Cortez's mind. No one has talked about limiting birth control. What people have said is that the US taxpayer shouldn't have to pay for a woman's birth control pills, around $10/month at Walmart, any more than they should have to pay for her makeup or her gym membership.

Outlawing sex that falls outside their theology?  Huh?  All bans on murdering the unborn do is say that if you have sex you can't murder your daughter to get out of the consequences.  Women can have all the sex they want; they just can't kill their daughters.  There is absolutely no discussion of outlawing any type of sex.

It's also interesting that Ocasio-Cortez thinks that women killing their daughters, often because their significant other wants a son, is a blow against the patriarchy.

You know what a real blow against the patriarchy is?  Women not being sex objects that men can use without fear of paying child support because they can't kill their babies.  Abortion enables the patriarchal exploitation of women.

Even more amazing pro-lifers support marriage where a man commits to staying with a woman for her whole life and supports and raises their children while Ocasio-Cortez apparently views women being used and dumped by men as good.

Finally science has shown that a woman's unborn daughter isn't part of her body. A woman's unborn daughter has unique DNA.  Hence abortion isn't about controlling the woman's body it's about a woman controlling her daughters body.
