The entire #FakeNews media was ecstatic and the left was sure impeachment was around the corner--even though the same people didn't think Bill Clinton should have been impeached for lying under oath. The Mueller's office declared that the story wasn't true.
This creates a conundrum for the left; do they admit the BuzzFeed story is a lie or do they say that Mueller is wrong? The problem is that if they say that Mueller's wrong then if Mueller does make any claims that are damaging to Trump Trump can point out that the left has said that Mueller isn't reliable but if the left accepts Mueller's correction then they have to abandon their latest "sure thing" that would guarantee that Trump was impeached.
Fortunately for the left they don't care about truth or consistency only about power so they can use their standard playbook to deal with the issue.
Historically the left will invoke people as being infallible and then ignore mistakes those people made or positions those people took that the left doesn't like.
For example the left will hold up the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr as a saint for his stand on civil rights but ignore the fact that he said that Black people needed to own guns to protect themselves.
More recently the left and the #FakeNews media has been extolling Pope Francis because of his support of radical environmental policies ignoring that he has written the following:
"Since everything is interrelated, concern for the protection of nature is also incompatible with the justification of abortion. How can we genuinely teach the importance of concern for other vulnerable beings, however troublesome or inconvenient they may be, if we fail to protect a human embryo, even when its presence is uncomfortable and creates difficulties?"
What we can expect to see then is the media ignoring or downplaying what Mueller has said on the Buzzfeed article while simultaneously declaring anything said or leaked by the Mueller team that hurts Trump must be 100% true.
