In a surprising admission Abramson also says that she believes the same bias occurs at the Washington Post; something that sane people realized long ago.
Given that Abramson carries an Obama doll to comfort her during the Trump presidency her words carry a significant weight. She writes:
“The more ‘woke’ staff thought that urgent times called for urgent measures; the dangers of Trump’s presidency obviated the old standards,”
Translation: Many at the NYT hate that their candidate lost and that their ideology isn't being imposed on the people so that rather than presenting facts which wouldn't convince people that their position is right and Trump's is wrong they lie and make claims that don't have any factual basis.
That's why you see so many bombshell stories about Trump which lack any identifiable sources and which are always found to be wrong after days, weeks, or months.
In addition to their lust for power and their abhorrence of democracy the people at the NYT are driven by their greed.
“Given its mostly liberal audience, there was an implicit financial reward for the Times in running lots of Trump stories, almost all of them negative: they drove big traffic numbers and, despite the blip of cancellations after the election, inflated subscription orders to levels no one anticipated.”
Talk about a toxic mix; by lying the NYT not only advances their agenda they make more money by doing so.
