“I think there’s a lot of people more concerned about being precisely, factually, and semantically correct than about being morally right.”
Hence if we accept her "wisdom" fact checking is evil because it distracts us from the more significant issue of moral rectitude.
For example if Trump gets some statistic wrong about illegal immigration according to Ocasio-Cortez it would be wrong to point that out if in fact Trump is right that it's immoral to allow massive illegal immigration that drives down Black American wages and denies Black Americans jobs.
Of course when Ocasio-Cortez said that she did so assuming that all her positions are morally right, including the mass slaughter of the unborn and ignoring the ongoing mass shootings of Blacks in Democrat run cities, while the positions of all of those who disagree with her are wrong.
Interestingly Ocasio-Cortez's statement is a natural result of the Democrats rejection of truth and their embrace of individual's "truth" as in the commonly used phrase "your truth". The idea that we can create our own truth, such as a man declaring that contrary to everything that biology teaches us he can become a woman, is core to the modern left since the ideology of the left is often in conflict with objective facts.
By abolishing objectivity and facts leftists like Ocasio-Cortez are attempting to ensure that any voice other than their own can be rejected solely based on feelings. Democrats do everything in their power, from #FakeNews spinning to public schools rejecting reason, to ensure that Americans are either incapable of disinclined to actually reason about the issues facing America today. That's necessary because in a battle of ideas the left's tried and proven to not work "solutions" can never win.
But the simple truth is that if we take Ocasio-Cortez at her word she is clearly condemning the whole fact checking industry. If Ocasio-Cortez meant what she said, and wasn't just trying to cover up her mistakes, then instead of fact checking we should have morality checking where the moral correctness of a position is all that matters.
That of course presents a problem in that it is often impossible to decide if something is moral without facts. Take illegal immigration for example. If the vast majority of illegals are in fact refugees truly fleeing imminent death then the morality of allowing them in is much different than if the majority of illegals come to America simply to collect welfare and get paid more under the table than if they stayed home.
Hence Ocasio-Cortez's position is intrinsically illogical but that shouldn't stop us from pointing out that illogic by noting that if we take her at her word she's condemning fact checking.
